Counting Spoons
~ A Memoir of Heroin, heartache, and Hope
Now available!
Our youngest son, Justin, was a healthy, happy young man who had everything going for him, but he was empty inside. He was searching for something to fill a need, and that search eventually lead him on a downward spiral of crime and addiction, living on the streets, and strung out on heroin. Our story is not unlike many other families that battle with addiction, but let me tell you, our journey almost killed me, and it almost killed my son. By the grace of God we survived and came out on the other side of suffering, into a new life of faith and hope. I pray that other families struggling in addiction will find hope in our story.
Counting Spoons is a non-fiction, transformational memoir, and story of our family’s victory over addiction. It reveals the power of redeeming grace, the joy in a comeback, and the unfailing love of a God who saves.
If you choose to read my book, and I pray you do, I think you will be intrigued by how Jesus has worked in our lives. It is perhaps my favorite story ever.
